Today we had our traditional Valentine’s Party and took the opportunity to show how our residents have progressed under the love and care of our dedicated staff. “Don’t Abandon school!”

We are five months in to our project to prevent school abandonment and we are really pleased with the progress we’ve made. We are working with 14 children who are currently in their final year at the village school. At the end of the school year they will take national exams in Romanian and Maths and their results determine which high school (if at all) they get a place in. We are offering weekly free tuition in these two subjects to give them a better chance of passing the exams and thus getting a place in High School. We are also...

Mirela’s first day of school in Ireland!

14 months ago we posted about Liliana, who was starting her first day at school in Ireland after our good friends, the Phillips, opened up their home and hearts to her. Well now the story gets even better because Liliana’s youngest sister, Mirela, has now also joined the Phillips family and last month enjoyed HER first day at school in Ireland!
